Among the state engineering entrance exams UPTU SEE ,an exam conducted by the UTTAR PRADESH TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY,LUCKNOW(UPTU) holds the reputation of being the largest entrance exams among all the states of India.,wherein more than 1.5 lac students compete for some 18,000 seats of various courses.
UPTU has got more than 400 colleges affiliated to it,including both private and government institutes,. . and this numbes is still on a rise.And among this huge heap of colleges in UPTU we have 5 government engineering colleges and some 10-15 gud private engineering colleges.

Government engineering colleges no doubt attract the top rankers from the UPTU SEE and infact some of the best brains in the state.The quality of the students here is indeed remarkable.Thus these places are by default the top notch targets for recruitment by the HR's of companies.To put it straight the QUALITY and QUANTITY of placements is the best in government engineering colleges.

It's almost every year that companies like Infosys,TCS,Wipro,HCL,Adtel software,CISCO etc themselves send mails to these colleges(even at BIET JHANSI)asking for the suitable slot to be granted to them for recruiting the students,which is just opposite to what happens in private UPTU colleges,in these institutions its the college authorities nd the TPO who constantly approach the HRs of these companies to visit thier campus,so here comes a contradiction betwixt the govt nd private UPTU colleges,it is the value of the govt institutions that makes companies to themselves visit the campus of these UPTU institutions.
